Senior Product Designer

Fawna is hiring a Senior Product Designer to shape the workflows that help teams turn thousands of customer conversations into clear, evidence-backed product decisions.

This is a senior individual-contributor role for a designer who enjoys complex SaaS problems, dense information, and systems thinking. The work spans discovery, interaction design, information architecture, visual design, prototyping, research, and design-system development.

About Fawna

Fawna connects support tickets, chats, reviews, calls, CRM notes, and other customer feedback sources. It identifies themes, summarizes patterns, preserves source evidence, and gives product, support, success, sales, and leadership teams one shared view of customer needs.

What this role will own

  • End-to-end design for major product workflows.

  • Information architecture for conversations, themes, insights, sources, and workspaces.

  • Dashboards, review queues, saved views, evidence patterns, and collaboration flows.

  • AI-assisted interfaces that remain understandable and reviewable.

  • Customer research, workflow mapping, prototyping, and usability testing.

  • Expansion and governance of the product design system.

  • Design quality across product surfaces from early concept through implementation.

Core design challenges

The Senior Product Designer will work on questions such as:

  • How should thousands of conversations be summarized without hiding important nuance?

  • How can users inspect the evidence behind an AI-generated theme?

  • How should product, support, and GTM teams collaborate without creating duplicate workflows?

  • How can dense dashboards feel calm and readable?

  • Which controls help users correct, refine, or dismiss automated outputs?

  • How should permissions and workspace structures scale as teams grow?

How design works at Fawna

Designers work closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams. Projects begin with customer problems, observed workflows, and business context.

Great design at Fawna makes complex customer evidence easier to understand without pretending the underlying complexity does not exist.

Research and customer contact

The Senior Product Designer will regularly review customer conversations, join interviews, observe workflows, and test concepts with users. Research should inform both immediate feature decisions and broader product patterns.

What Fawna is looking for

  • At least five years of experience designing SaaS or data-heavy digital products.

  • A portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, product judgment, and polished UI craft.

  • Experience with dashboards, collaboration tools, workflow software, or AI-assisted interfaces.

  • Strong interaction design and information architecture skills.

  • Comfort working with ambiguity, technical constraints, and evolving requirements.

  • Ability to communicate design decisions clearly in writing and conversation.

  • Deep care for accessibility, hierarchy, consistency, and implementation quality.

Helpful experience

  • Customer support, CRM, product analytics, research, or feedback platforms.

  • AI evaluation, human-in-the-loop workflows, or explainable automation.

  • Enterprise permissions, multi-workspace products, or admin tooling.

  • Design-system leadership and component governance.

  • Early-stage product teams where designers contribute beyond a narrow feature scope.

What success looks like

In the first three months, the designer will understand the product domain, build relationships with customers and the team, and lead a meaningful workflow improvement from discovery through delivery.

Within six months, success means clearer product patterns, stronger design-engineering collaboration, improved usability in a core workflow, and a more consistent design system.

What Fawna offers

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity.

  • Remote-friendly work with optional Berlin collaboration space.

  • High ownership over product direction and design quality.

  • Direct customer access and meaningful influence on strategy.

  • A learning budget for books, tools, courses, and conferences.

  • Modern equipment and a flexible working setup.

  • A small team with low process overhead and room for thoughtful work.

Interview process

  • Introductory conversation about experience, interests, and expectations.

  • Portfolio review focused on product reasoning and craft.

  • Collaborative working session around a realistic Fawna design problem.

  • Final conversations with engineering, product, and leadership.

The process evaluates systems thinking, communication, customer empathy, visual craft, and the ability to turn ambiguity into a coherent product direction.
